Where to set the bindings when using Snowboard Paddles
SNOWBOARD Paddles work best when riders face more forward
than to the side. Set the bindings for the front foot
about 30-50 degrees (err on the "more" side), with the
back foot about 5-10 degrees less.
NOTE: Be aware that snowboard instructors and shop
personnel usually suggest a more sideward stance for
beginners. Don't worry! Trust us!
Because of the suggested binding stance (diagonally
forward), SNOWBOARD Paddles are especially effective for
people who want to learn to just cruise the mountain
while carving turns (i.e., the "carvers"); as opposed to
"free-stylers" who want to learn to slide forward and
backward, around in circles, and ricochet down halfpipes.
Freestylers want their feet more sideward facing. Carvers
ultimately want their bindings facing more diagonally
forward; and with the SNOWBOARD Paddles, the carving
crowd can skip ahead and start that way.
